Rescue Rehab

Anyone who has ever adopted a dog from a shelter or a rescue knows that there can be plenty of baggage and challenges that come along with "previously owned" dog. There's no easy way to figure out what makes him/her 'tick' - it's more trial and error, which can be a challenge in itself!

The truth of the matter, rescuing an animal can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Never will you see such appreciation and willingness to overcome.

Oftentimes, people will bring home the "cute dog" that they find in a shelter in an honest attempt to save a dog's life, but upon getting them home and settled, they've come across a handful of surprises - some not so pleasant! In a state of panic, they return the dog to the shelter where they may be mislabeled as "aggressive" or "untrainable", which can lead to the dog living out the rest of his days in a shelter, or sometimes even the decision to euthanize.

In light of this, we've developed a program to help new owners understand and integrate their new rescue pup into their homes and lives. We feel that with patience and consistency, and diligent pet-owners, rescue dogs can be rehabilitated to live happily ever after.

Many rescue dogs are rehabilitated, trained and even put to work! There are many who go on to be part of a Search & Rescue team or even Therapy Dogs, visiting hospitals and nursing homes! These are dogs that at one point, were given up and even on Death Row.

If you are thinking of adopting a Rescue, please let us help! We can help you choose a dog that will fit your lifestyle and assist in the integration process.

If you have already rescued a dog and are facing challenges, please call us before giving up and heading back to the shelter - we can help!

Clients who sign up for our Rescue Rehab program and show proof of adoption within 1 month will receive $25 off the cost of lessons!
